For years, Speer Gold Dot has been the pinnacle of duty handgun ammunition performance. Gold Dot G2 builds on this reputation with a next-generation duty bullet design. Instead of a large cavity in the nose, Gold Dot G2 has only a shallow dish filled with a high-performance elastomer. On impact, the elastomer is forced into engineered internal fissures to start the expansion process, as opposed to conventional bullet designs, which rely on target media to enter the hollow-point and create expansion forces. The result is extremely uniform expansion, better separation of the petals, and more consistent penetration across barrier types, gun platforms and barrel lengths.

Packing a short barrel once meant less velocity and less reliable expansion. Speer’s specialized ammunition designed for back-up guns was designed to work in 2-inch barrels. We redesigned select Gold Dot bullets to make the cavity larger for reliable expansion at the reduced velocities common to short barrel handguns. You also get less "kick" to keep you on target when wielding sharp snapping .357 and .44 Magnum revolvers. And if a semi-auto is your gun of choice, our offerings are ideal for expansion in barrels as short as three inches.

Lawman® Clean-Fire® ammunition virtually eliminates lead generated at the firing point by combining a TMJ bullet with a priming mixture that doesn't contain these heavy metals. A uniform jacket applied electrochemically—one molecule at a time provides greater accuracy for training. Like Speer®Lawman® Clean-Fire ammunition, Blazer Clean-Fire offers all the same Clean-Fire benefits, but at a much lower cost. Why? Again the savings is in the case. Blazer Clean-Fire cases are made from a high-strength aluminum alloy. Blazer Clean-Fire significantly reduces airborne lead associated with indoor training. For a shooter, the main exposures to the heavy metals lead, barium, and antimony are at the firing point. The most significant is the lead residue emitted from the primer. Blazer Clean-Fire ammunition virtually eliminates lead generated at the firing point by combining a TMJ® bullet with a priming mixture that contains no lead, barium or antimony. Blazer Clean-Fire ammunition is loaded with the same double-base propellants as conventional primed ammunition. Copper plating through our Uni-Cor® process forms a pure copper jacket which totally encases the lead core. This is more than a mere copper flash or copper wash. The Clean-Fire TMJ bullets get a uniform jacket applied electrochemically. The final step is a second swaging of the bullet for greater accuracy.
